Graduation: Ceremonial farewell to the graduating class of 2021
The graduation ceremony of the graduating class is always a great joy at Brand University, but the celebration in the summer semester of 2021 will be remembered as an extraordinary day.
For a long time, it was not certain whether the 70 or so graduates would even be able to say goodbye in person and on site in view of the pandemic. All the greater was the joy that on 24 September 2021, the graduating classes from March and September gathered in the Mozartsäle to celebrate the end of their studies in a befitting manner in hats and gowns. In three ceremonies, the graduates celebrated accompanied by their friends and families.
The ceremonies were opened by Prof. Dr. Jörg Igelbrink, Vice President for Teaching, followed by the academic address by the University President Prof. Dr. h. c. Shan Fan. Afterwards, the programme directors each took the floor to say goodbye to their students. Holger Roschlaub, representing the Brand Design lecturers, and Stefanie Mager, representing the Master’s and Brand Management lecturers, also addressed the graduating class.
Representatives of the study programmes also took to the stage to reminisce with their fellow students and relatives about the special time of study now behind them and to look forward together to the road ahead.
First, Prof. Ansgar Eidens welcomed the 13 graduates of the Brand Design degree programme with a focus on digital design and communication design.
Afterwards, Prof. Dr. Yonca Limon-Calisan bid farewell to 25 Master’s students with personal words and best wishes for their professional future.
Finally, 28 Brand Management and 2 Brand Communication graduates were bid farewell by Prof. Dr. Joachim Bongard and brought the evening to a close. The two graduates with the best theses in the Brand Management degree programme also received a special honour: a one-year membership in the G.E.M (Gesellschaft zur Erforschung des Markenwesens e. V.).
