Portfolio Workshop at BU

06/21/2025

At this year’s portfolio workshop, aspiring designers had the opportunity to further develop their portfolios together with professors, lecturers and students of Brand University. Through individual coaching sessions and hands-on exercises, the focus was not only on technical aspects but above all on making their own ideas visible and sharpening their personal creative style.

Participants worked across a variety of disciplines – from photography and collage to illustration and street art, as well as digital tools such as artificial intelligence and social media. This allowed them to experiment with new methods, build on existing projects and gain insights into the many facets of studying design.

Beyond the creative work, the workshop also encouraged exchange and networking. In a relaxed atmosphere, participants connected with current students, learned first-hand about everyday life at BU, and began to establish valuable contacts within the university community. The day concluded with pizza for everyone – a fitting end to an experience that was not only inspiring but also a lot of fun.

A special highlight: some participants received their admission to the Bachelor programme Brand Communication Designat the end of the day – without the need for a traditional portfolio examination.
