The Brand University of Applied Sciences is a transdisciplinary university bridging science and design with international target audiences. Starting September 1st, 2025, we are looking for a

W2 Professor for Intercultural Brand Communication (m/f/d)

We are seeking international brand communication professionals (m/f/d) with proven interdisciplinary expertise in cross-cultural brand communication contexts. For this professorship position, candidates should demonstrate practical experience in brand campaigns and communication strategies across diverse markets. The course offerings are part of our English-speaking study program “Brand Communication”. Teaching is conducted in English. Pedagogical suitability should preferably be demonstrated through teaching experience at university level. A doctoral degree in a relevant field is required. We expect the willingness to teach at our Chinese partner university in Ningbo, China, regularly.

Your Tasks

  • Supervision and counseling of students in our programs according to the area of specialization, including taking responsibility for corresponding modules

  • Supervision of student projects, examinations, and final theses

  • Personal practical work in the field of specialization

  • Communication and cooperation with the university's corporate and practice partners

  • Participation in the committees of the university's academic self-governance

  • Active engagement in application-oriented, practice-integrated research within the university's brand-focused research clusters

  • Development and implementation of research projects in collaboration with academic and industry partners

Your Profile

  • Team player with excellent communication skills

  • Qualified degree (PhD) and practical experience in related areas of expertise

  • English language skills (spoken and written) at a minimum level of C2

  • Intercultural competence and experience related China

  • University teaching experience with the corresponding competency level in didactics and pedagogy

  • Experience with and commitment to innovative digital teaching methods, particularly in AI applications and online learning environments

  • Research capabilities and willingness to foster application-oriented research content through cooperation with industry and academic partners

  • Willingness to publish research results, ideas, data, and interim findings in an openly accessible digital format
