Tennis Point

As part of the study module “International Media Planning & Campaigning” (supervised by Lecturer Johannes C. Röhr), International Brand Communication Master’s students and their new partner Tennis-Point have started another promising Practice Project.

eCommerce company Tennis-Point is Europe’s No. 1 in the field of tennis equipment. Christian Singer, General Manager International and CMO Florian Braukmann represented the company at the first project meeting on the HTHC premises.

Both were so kind to make their way from Gütersloh to Hamburg for this specific purpose. The task they brought along for the ride: Expansion of TennisPoint’s business into new country markets by using the Five Rights of Media Planning. The students were divided into 5 teams, one for each target country. Which countries were covered, however, has to remain confidential.

Naturally, such a project can only be successful if it is rooted in knowledge of the market players, the key influencers and the customers. That’s why the student teams were introduced to the tennis business by Zafar Kir, Managing Director of HTHC and Bedri Yenilmez, Tennis Headcoach and former Pro. The extensive briefings did not leave time for any tennis matches, but even so it was an exciting and challenging day for everyone involved.
