Guest Lecture: Dr. Philipp Gausling about Marketing in B2B

On May 2nd Dr. Philipp Gausling attended the lecture “B2B- und Dienstleistungsmarketing” of the 4th semester Brand Management (B.A.).

He gave the students an insight into how the field of brand and marketing is currently developing among B2B manufacturers. His versatile, young career shows how much can be achieved in this area – an opportunity for all students with a brand focus.

Dr. Gausling has worked at the Institute of Business Administration for Systems and System Technologies of the Westfälische Wilhelms Universität (WWU) Münster. With the luminary Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Klaus Backhaus he published a paper on “Brand relevance in industrial goods markets” in 2015. It clearly argues why investment in brands and marketing also plays an important role in the industrial goods sector.

In addition to his academic career, Philipp Gausling has gained further perspectives on the subject: He gained experience at the management consultancy Horváth & Partners Management Consultants. He then entered his current professional role as Business Development Manager at Europe’s leading online marketplace for B2B products and services “Wer liefert was“.

During his visit to the lecture, Dr. Gausling motivated the students to also look at the B2B sector when choosing a career.

Our free Brand Academy lecturer Stefanie Mager had invited the colleague to open up a perspective for her students that might not be as close to them as products and services for consumers.

“The Brand Academy is an inspiring place where research and business can exchange ideas personally and practically. When the students comment that they found Dr. Gausling’s visit very exciting, everyone wins,” says Stefanie Mager.

We would like to thank Dr. Philipp Gausling for coming.
