Discovering 3D Printing @ Beiersdorf
The new joint practice project of Brand Academy and Beiersdorf recently reached phase 2, i.e. the so-called feedback round. As part of the module “Consumer Psychology & Insights” supervised by Prof. Dr. Yonca Limon-Calisan, our International Brand Communication Master’s students pitched their proposed approaches to solving the task at hand in a lion’s den-like format at our partner’s HQ.
While the jurors were busy deciding which team to favor, the students received a rare tour of Beiersdorf’s 3D printing labs. The tour raised and answered various pressing questions such as “What is 3D printing?”, “How does it work?” and “What types of 3D printing are there?”.
The tour wasn’t a coincidence, of course! The Beiersdorf representatives surprised our students with the news that the product packaging they are now busy conceptualizing will actually come to life by being printed in 3D.
